In the middle of Tornado Alley in the small town of Silverton, Oklahoma, multiple storm paths are about to converge. A documentary crew is tracking the storms, local adventure-seekers want to put themselves into the danger zone, and a widowed school principal with two teenage sons is planning the graduation ceremony. When a storm hits, this diverse group of people must come together balancing their personal goals and the safety of themselves and others. But there are more storms on the horizon, and told from the point of view of those witnessing it, these storms prove to be far greater than ever experienced putting all their lives in danger.
In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Into the Storm was great, I'll admit I usually like every movie I watch especially when my mind is open. I took a mental health day Friday 8/22/14 and saw this film at 11:45am. (in the cinema)

Great SFX, I mean great, the fire tornado blew my mind and acting was above average. I only recall the guy from Hangover and Ted but will watch out for the other billed cast.

Blend of Twister (of course) - every good disaster move - with a squeeze of Apocalypto and unfortunately real life (Moore, OK)

I scored 8 out of 10, go check it out... I was so excited when I saw the trailer for this movie. Finally, next generation visual effects in a storm movie, right? WRONG!

The tornado ride at Universal studios is more realistic.

The truly disappointing visuals are only outdone by the truly, terrible acting. I'm not talking about the kind of bad acting you and your fellow movie watchers can laugh at, but rather the kind of portrayals that take away from the movie. No disrespect and there is no doubt most of the cast had a scene or two they blew out of the water, but as a whole, the performances simply fell short, way short.

Until the next storm movie, I'll be content with re-watching twister. Into The Storm is an uncanny valley disaster movie — not as consciously cheesy and cheap as something like "Sharknado 2," but built around a similar equation of unreality and gratification.
