fun lil game to play in your spare time. Overlooked by many, but if you enjoyed the original 1982 Tron film (especially the tank combat scenes) you really owe it to yorself to pick this game up. You won't regret it. End of line.. Now, this was the first legit PC game I've ever played on a computer. I mean, back when I was younger, I used to play pinball on this dinosuar computer we had, but once we got a laptop, I started indulging in the internet and downloadable games. This was the very first game I downloaded, and I have to say, I began my PC gaming on the right foot. This game has been and always will be my favorite game. (Yeah sorry, different favorite game now. This game is 2nd best though!) The cutscenes can be a little slow, but everything is made up for in the strategy and the style and look of the game. I love the aspect of adventuring into unknown areas, especially in this game. If you enjoy some strategy with action and something interesting, this is definitely a game you should play.. Simple yet fun. What a sucky ing game, lol.. Trash.really.. I don't get what the negative reviews are about other than you can't please everyone. I will admit that starting a new game takes a little time to get the action started but once it does the joyride Tank Universal takes you on is something that should not be missed. As the description states fans of the TRON movies will love the visuals . fans of Atari's Robot Tank or the other one (I know the name just being silly) will love the action. At its core this game offers game play that is spot on. Keyboard and mouse controls are easy to learn and use (I use a laptop so using the touchpad works well), the graphics are good and don't require a computer costing the price of a good used car, the sounds and music blend in well, and the mechanics are well developed. It's not very often a game comes along that gets everything right no matter what hardware it was developed for. As far as I am concerned Tank Universal got it all right and I will gladly purchase the sequel. Yea George doesn't look that great but how he looks is not important.how the rest of the game looks and plays is. I got this on sale for .99 cents and it is worth its $4.99 price tag. I give it a high recommendation. This is more fun than the actual TRON games in my opinion.. A great game about tank skirmishing in 80's-version-of-the-future-worlds. The player goes up against a giant eyeball overlord along with men from a resistance movement. Together they fight past vast amounts of enemy vehicles such as tanks, artillery, and even goddamn bombers. The story is more or less just there so people won't complain about lack of a story, and the read-only dialogue is laughably bad at times, but the game contains a lot of fun to be had and some really unexpected twists. Once you beat the campaign, you can test your strength in the "skirmish" mode, where you have 20 minutes to kill as many enemies, of all types, as possible, and try not to die in the process. However, there are a few downsides to this game: no multiplayer whatsoever capped at 30fps you don't have a reliable way to deal with swarms of enemies This game is one of a two-part series, and there is a Tank Universal 2 in the works. Hopefully we see some modernization in it, I would absolutely love to skirmish with real players. Overall, I really like this game, and definately recommend it, but know that replayability is extremely limited and there is no multiplayer.
