After being denied reinforcements Gaius marches his troops to face the Demon King and the Gael warriors. Meanwhile, Riannon has a dream about Arawn speaking to a young girl before entering his final battle many years ago. Waking up Riannon goes in search of him out of fear that he has left. Arawn removes the scarf and gives Riannon the chance to free herself from their marriage saying that he can not make any promises due to the reality of the future battle. She however returns the scarf to him and restates her intentions to stay by his side and protect him. Plans to deal with Gaius's Imperials are made and the group begin their venture through the forest to the Imperial camp. Suddenly a feeling of foreboding stops the group and despite concerns Arawn decides to continue forwards. The Elves begin to feel their strength disappear due to Gravitus just before walking into a trap of zombies. Gaius hears about the attack and notes that the undead must be Creon's (the mayor) reinforcements. The zombie Gael's (also called the Necros) continue the attack but keep raising despite the attempts of the group to stop them. Ogam notes that his Flame of Origin would end of the battle but is stopped by Arawn who chooses to use his own magic despite the risk that it could end his life. Arawn is successful in using 'pure whiteness' a cleansing spell to destroy the zombies but is also scorched by the spell. Seeing Arawn surrounded in the bright light brings a flashback to Arthur and he remembers his father's death and the dark figure who calls himself Arwan, the white spirit. When Arthur returns from the flashback he accuses Arwan of the murder and demands Riannon to let him follow through with his promise of revenge. She continues to stand between Arthur and Arwan until Arthur looses all rational thought and attacks her. When he gains sanity, Riannon is safe having fainted and Arwan has been run through with Arthur's sword. Right away he feels remorse having let his anger overcome him. Gaius receives a report that Arthur has fled and that Arwan is still alive but has returned to Avalon unable to fight.
