The patriotic sole recipient of a revolutionary body enhancement project battles evil as the star spangled defender of America.
In 1941, Steve Rogers is the test subject of the top secret Operation: Rebirth. The experiment is a complete success with Steve Rogers' physiognomy suddenly raised to the maximum human potential. Unfortunately, at that triumph, the lead scientist was immediately assassinated by a Nazi spy and the formula was irretrievably lost. The US government, aware that war with Nazi Germany was imminent, decided to make the most of their resource by appointing Rogers as their propaganda symbol/government agent, Captain America. Armed only with an indestructible shield, we follow his adventures in World War II with his sidekick, Bucky. In addition, we follow his further adventures after he reemerges in contemporary times out of suspended animation to face all the threats to America and its ideals.
This show was right up there with Spider-Man-it was truly superb.

I was a big fan of Captain America as a child. I loved his costume and he was just like Superman in my opinion-patriotic and moralistic.

The episodes for this show were top notch particularly the ones where Captain America battled the evil Red Skull.

The great thing about Captain America is the way he always overcomes the odds. (SPOILER AHEAD) In one episode the Red Skull gets hold of a cosmic cube which can destroy reality but Captain America still manages to find a way to beat him.

This show was great-but be warned,you will not be able to stop singing the theme tune after. I was starting to like this series then at the start of episode 4 they say Bucky is long dead. What? He was alive at the end of episode 3. Just like the Submariner series, it seems that every episode was written by a different person and none of them saw any other episodes. Despite it's flaws, this show is still the most accurate on screen depiction of Cap's origin until the newer movies.
