About This Game

The tension is thick. Your pursuers have caused you a lot of damage and if they find you now, they'll take everything you've worked for. You'll need to get one of the airplanes working to leave the island, but right now your priority is to find some food or you'll be too depleted to defend yourself. From your vantage point in a second floor window, you spot a deer cautiously emerging from a grove of trees near the bottom of a wooded hill. Deer can be hunted for food, so you raise your weapon and put your crosshairs over the animal's heart. You are about to pull the trigger when you see the deer start, then run off. You pan your scope to the side and see that the deer was startled by the group of heavily armed players that are now approaching your position. It's a posse, and although they don't know exactly where you are, they know you're in the area. The Death Toll will be high today…

Come join an open world first person survival shooter with a unique game mode that focuses on team play. Explore a beautiful open world as you search for the supplies and equipment you will need to escape from the island and win the game. Find weapons to hunt the ones closest to escape, or use your tactical skills to turn the tables on the ones pursuing you.

Can you win the arms race and leave the island with your life, or are you doomed to be left behind and die with the other captives?

Weapons

Death Toll includes a wealth of modern firepower like assault weapons, RPGs and grenades, along with defensive measure like camo clothing and body armor. The only problem is finding them before your competitors do!

Combat Vehicles

Scattered around the island are an assortment of land, sea, and air vehicles. Many, like the tanks or the jets, have working weapon systems. Acquiring one of these vehicles will greatly boost your chances of success, but to use one you'll first have to repair it with the parts and materials you find scattered around the island.

Survival

You'll need to find food if you want to survive. Canned food is available if you can find it, but the best way to keep yourself fed is to hunt. The island is home to deer, rabbits, fox, and boar, all of which can be taken for food.

Im enjoying this game so far. Its not battle royale necessarily, similar but not quite. 16 ppl split up into teams of no more then 4 all trying to get their hands on the 4 cases so they can escape the island. Easy to get a case but others get ahold of them and then you have to hunt those ppl down for their cases as they do aswell for you. Loot like pubg running around finding armor, backpack, guns, attachments, and ammo aswell as parts to fix the numerous Tanks, APCs, jeeps, trucks, helis, and planes scattered around the map.

Its pretty basic atm but with some time and support from the community this could become a gem.. Fun game enjoyed playing it. Game has potential but now we have to see what they do with it. So far not too good. Game hasn't been updated since 2018 so almost a year as of 3/1/2019

5-30-2019 And the game has just come out as free. Game seems much better since I have last played it but sadly it is a very dead game.. Good game. A little more in depth than most battle royal type games, more of a mix of battle royal and survival. Runs great on my PC.. Best Game Since Half Life 2. This game has so much potential and even at this state I bet I could put dozens and potentially hundreds of hours in with my friends.
Pros:
1. Game is fun (Only when others are playing)
2. Optimized swell
3. Graphics aren't too bad

Cons:
1. There needs to be more players and/or human like AI (I played against some God teir AI)
2. Vehicles damage far too quickly and easily
3. Aircrafts are really REALLY hard to control making them borderline useless
4. Maybe add a bit more recoil (just for realism)
5. Add more guns

Even though there are a few more things I dislike overall I think the game is amazing to play even if there's only 10-15 playing. However overall I think the game is still incredibly fun and worth a measly 99 cents.. Ok I recommend this in the future. It's got some GREAT ideas but is not really playable (easily) in its current form.. This one has promise. It just needs the players. I hosted a game at 7PM ET for about two hours, and three players total showed up. One guy was a touch n go. One guy died once and quit. The third guy had an extended battle with me.

The game mode is interesting. You have to grab four crates and escape the island. You run around or drive around getting geared up, and you have to decide what repair parts to lug around... you can only carry so much.

A suggestion I have for the devs is to add a loot generation scheme... it seems like the loot spawns one time and thats it.

$10 is an appropriate price for this title. Not too fancy. Not too dull. You can't even go to the movies for $10 any more, and nice six pack will set you back as much.

Bring the players.


Update 23755 - Release Build!:
This will hopefully be our last build before release. Thank you to everyone in the community that helped us find problems and gave us ideas for improvement, we could not have done it without you.

The major change in the build is the way the countermeaseures work. They should be much more effective now against guided missiles.

Besides this there was serval small fixes and optimizations.

Hello testers!

We are working hard to fix stability problems, and we think we're making good progress. We can't tell unless we get a lot of people playing, though, so I'm hoping you guys will be willing to play with us a bit more as we iron out these difficulties.

We play every Thursday night at 7 pacific time

This new version focuses on in-game stability improvements (as opposed to stability while joining which will come with the next update in a few days).

Version 22694 includes the following fixes/changes:

  • Fix issues with containers / vehicles leading to invalid states on client machines
  • Make sure the inventory avatar is in a casual, devil-may-care posture
  • Make sure the game doesn't pause if the player clicks outside the window or alt-tab's to another program (happens a lot because the cursor just stops being locked sometimes). Should help server stability
  • Fix issue with cursor not staying locked
  • Try to ensure that if steam drops a player from the lobby, that player is made aware of it. Should stop ghost player bug.
  • Make sure you can't tread water forever (by increasing hunger rate over time when swimming)
  • Put in better effects and muzzle flashes for some vehicle and weapons
  • Fix issues with multiple death messages
  • Fix issues with the lock-on indicator in aircraft

This is the part of the project that is always the most difficult. You think you've accounted for everything during the long, careful development process. Late nights and early mornings spent pouring over timelines and UML charts. Then, the instant a real player touches it, you're shown how wrong you were. It's heartbreaking and anxiety inducing for both players and developers.

I want to thank you again for helping us with this process. I know it's disappointing and frustrating, and you are still helping us. I can't say thank you enough times.

We've been busy updating the game, but we haven't written a release notes in more than a month, so I thought I'd make a list of things we've done. If you haven't played in a while, I think you'll be surprised with how much the game has improved!

  • Huge amount of stability fixes.
  • Full implementation of Team Play
  • Randomize character appearance with hair color and facial hair
  • New chase camera for vehicles
  • Support steam invitations, and joining friends games
  • Keep waypoints from jumping around
  • Many sound improvements
  • Make sure that when players leave the game, they drop their items
  • Improve time of day transitions
  • UI improvements
  • Fixed issue with guns being wildly inaccurate
  • Switch solution for decals. Now you can see bullet holes, etc.
  • Added blood spray, and scorch mark decals
  • Added a tutorial
  • Remove "Host" and "Join" buttons in favor of "Play" button, since all games are identical, and you can join your friends using the steam invitation/join system.
  • Improve the accuracy of bullet collisions on some complicated objects (guard towers and such)
  • Hold vehicles for a time before they respawn, and make sure they won't kill anyone when they come back.
  • Fix many, many issues with item spawning
  • Fix pickup drops when player dies in a vehicle
  • Don't "leak" items from the game
  • Fix issues with ragdolls in vehicles
  • Make sure the bloody construction helmet works!
  • Improve some models
  • Fix a large amount of particle issues
  • Added some achievements
  • Reduced the poly count of clothing pickups
  • Fix issues with bullets and grenades under water
  • Improve wakes on the boats
  • Added separate Voice Volume slider.
