About This Game

The Endless Court is eternal, ruled by Immortals who have guided the four races of the world since the dawn of time. But they seem very concerned with preventing anyone from studying the broken ruins that litter the world, and peace is more fragile than it seems.

Felana is one of the historians at the margins of society, oppressed by the anti-scholarship edicts of the Endless Court. If you don't know who Sierra Lee is, you're probably underestimating this game. She's one of the only truly great RPGMaker creators, maybe the only one whose work you can actually find on Steam right now. To say that she's probably the best active adult-RPG maker would be damning her with faint praise; at least in terms of narrative, characterization, charisma and quality of game balance, there's really nobody else who's comparable in the field.

If you're not interested in RPGs, and are really just looking for a porn game, this probably isn't the game for you. There is sex featured in the game, with explicit scenes if you patch them in, but the sex isn't the focal point of the game, and if it's all you're there for, the game is probably going to lose you.

On the other hand, if you're interested in RPGs, but don't have a high opinion of adult games, I'd suggest giving this one a try. Patched or unpatched, it's a great RPG with an engaging and unconventional plot and cast (by the standards of either mainstream RPGs or adult ones.)

Intellectually arousing story, Hardcore narrative pacing, Double Penetration skills for high defense mobs, Eldritch horrors that you can have meaningful relationships with, this game has it all. In the first hour or two of the game, I didn't enjoy it that much. I'll just say that bluntly. As you get more into the story though, it, and the characters, do become more interesting. I think my biggest criticism of this game is that it feels rushed. What should be 8 lines of dialog is 2, that sort of thing. I think if she aime towards her game being a 15-20 hour game, instead of a 10-15 hour game, there would have been room for more dialog, to not only expand on story telling, but also character development.
Because for a game where the lead character is a historian? We are left with very little information about the world. Without wanting to say much lest I spoil anything, my prime example is.... I still have no clue what the races are, or what the difference is between them. In classic fantasy, using orcs and dwarves and elves, there is a certain pre-existing knowledge that helps us understand the different races. I'm just not seeing anything, in game, to tell me how the races are different, aside from one has one style of wing, one has another, and the last has none.

OK. Ripping into it that bit aside, what do I like about the game?
For one thing, the art is very attractive. From full character portraits to the face boxes for dialog, original artwork was used, and it was very well made, and grants all the characters individuality. For another, the story really is interesting, and I think my gripe above about how it seems you are never told a great deal about the world is such a gripe because I WANT to know more. The combat system is exceptionally well done, with a unique skill system. The tile map, for the world map, for dungeons, and for cities, is well made and detailed, which gives the game a much more professional look than you get out of most RPG maker games.

So, here are my pros and cons, though I would like to state that my overall opinion is a positive one, I am glad I bought the game, and I did truly enjoy it:

Pros:
-Combat was excellent and requires thought
-Story, which sparse for my taste, was still very interesting
-Sierra Lee is a master at pulling the most out of the RPG maler engines, leading to very polished games with unique assest
-Skill system
-Closer to "erotic" than "porn," in that, while blatently sexual, the sex aspects are not the driving force in the game

Cons:
-Short. It would have benefited greatly, in my opinion, from 2 to 5 more hours of gameplay
-Bare in parts. A very few maps are much more minimalist that I would have expected. Some plot issues are rushed through when more detail would have been nice
-No "quests" tab in menu. There are times where it is too easy to lose track of your objectives
-Miss it an it's gone. Though usually for minor things, and not a big deal, this game has a few things that, if you do not find them the first time, you are out of luck. You missed it, it's gone. Though not a completionist, these things always bug me.
-Art used in erotic scenes was reused enough to be noticable. I think as few 2 or 3 more pieces would have provided enough diversification it wouldn't be nearly so noticable
-A few gameplay mechanics were never explained (affection between party members. most gains seemed plot involved anyways, and I have no clue what changes the effection scores grant)

My cons list seems longer, but in actuallity most of them are minor gripes, where as the pros really made the game a great experience. So, I want to reitterate, I am glad I bought this game, I did enjoy it, and I do recommend it.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rating 9\/10 (Adult Content, Epic Story, Great Battle Mechanics)

This is another excellent RPG Maker game that I recommend, except that this game has unique adult content. This game also have a very interesting and epic storyline and great battle mechanics which I will explain below.

1. Adult Content
The steam version of this game is the "sanitized" version, where the naughty bits are all censored. However, you can download a patch that will remove the censorship so you can watch the game in its intended form. So, the user can decide to have either the censored or the uncensored version of the game. The story is also interspersed with explicit description of erotic scenes.

2. Epic Storyline
This game actually has an excellent and epic storyline and not does not just focus on petty banality. The content deals with racial inequalities (creatures with wings dominate those without wings), social injustices, political intrigues (different factions trying to hurt each other) and lots of betrayal and falsehood.

The protoganist in this game is actually a poor single mom trying to make ends meet. She is a academic historian doing research on ancient ruins as a full time job. She also has a side job as a "lady of the night" trying to make money to support her daughter. So, as expected, money is very hard to get in this game. Grinding give you limited money because only humanoid enemies drop them, and the other monsters only give you XP. You have to be very selective in what you buy in this game.

3. Great Game Mechanics.
This game has a very interesting game mechanics. As you level up, your maximum Skill Points will increase. You are free to select various skills for each character, as long as the total number of skill points are less than your maximum skill point for that level. Now, you learn skills mainly from equiping and using gears (armors and weapons) for some duration of time. Since money is hard to come by, you are free to circulate the same piece of armor to different team members so that they can learn the skills from that piece of armor. For example "Armor of Shadow" will give you the ability to Counterstrike with Critical Hits. Some gears will also give you passive abilites like HP (level 1-5), MP, Strenght, etc. So, in this game, you are free to strategize and decide on what skills to pick, based on a very limited amount of skill points.

I enjoyed this game very much, and had a great time with both the eroticism, the great storyline and the battle mechanics.. Other folks have spent long enough detailing the good and bad of Desecration of Wings, so I'll keep it quick.
It's a well-written RPG set in an original, somewhat dark fantasy world. The RPGmaker style is nothing new, but the combat is interesting and stays fairly difficult throughout. The ability to learn new passive and active abilities through equipment makes the combat rewarding and the grinding brief. Backtracking exists, but again, it is richly rewarded with both material and plot bonuses.
Speaking of which, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the lead characters, though I'm hardly impartial as a longtime fan of Sierra Lee's work. It did feel a bit short, but (like many others in the reviews) I'm comparing it to The Last Sentinal, which is an extraordinaly, sprawling monster of detailed content and complex choices that is more than worth your time to check out if you enjoy Desecration.
Explore carefully, enjoy the smut, and earn yourself the best ending you can.. I'm really happy with how this game came out. The plot is good, the puzzles are challenging, and the twists are entertaining. I don't even care about the H content (not that those parts aren't good and well written - I liked them a lot) but that the game is very enjoyable with or without it - the mark of a good game. Some of the characterization I think could have used more fleshing out, but after playing The Last Sovereign (omg, Sierra, I love that game so much, I can't wait for it to be finished) I think I'm just a bit spoiled. I've already played through twice, and loved every minute.. I reccomend this game to those who:

a - don't mind some jrpg grinding, (the store page advertises that it's "removing the grind." But I found that's only true if you're aiming for a certain achievement & ending. Whereas if you want the "true" ending, then you have to do some grinding)

b - want a jrpg fantasy world that incorporates some lovecraftian horror, (one's soul is just another thing that can, and inevitably will be, destroyed. And that sometimes creates abominations in their place<\/span><\/span>)

c - want a "mature" game, (just in case you somehow didn't see an age verification screen. Also, the main protagonist is a sex worker<\/span><\/span>) and

d - don't mind if the writing isn't the dev's best, especially early on. (the later two thirds of the story didn't disappoint, especial with the true ending requiring you to complete an old occult ritual to herald the end of the world... sorta,<\/span><\/span> but it's still not Sierra Lee's "A game")

Despite the two aforementioned downsides, this game has been an overall positive experience.

Hopefully/probably not our only RPG in development for next year, but certainly our most experimental. It feels good to be going back to the role playing game genre again.

Why hand-drawn? Because.
Well, really, because it continues the storyline that we set up with the very first Paper Shakespeare, but more importantly, [spoilers]. We wanted to fully explore the stick figure version of the Shakespeare dimensions that inhabit the universe that both Paper Shakespeare and Army of Tentacles reside in.
