About This Game

After a disastrous geological experiment, the Earth was ruptured into dozens of asteroids, some of which hold remnants of what humanity had left behind. Many space travelers explore these asteroids in search of treasures and ancient relics. It took approximately twenty years to gather information about the location of the mysterious ancient crystal, which will give arcane power to whoever first obtains it - and so our brave hero seizes the chance to go on a perilous adventure and be the one to unearth the crystal. Who knows where it will lead?

Gameplay

Dispersio is a retro-styled action platformer. As you progress through the game, you will have to use and combine special abilities, such as dashing, wall-jumping and more. There's even a hard mode for hardcore players. Can you beat each level without dying?

Fun, little game in vein of Super Meat Boy.. This looks and sounds great and has all the makings of a good game, but there's too much precision jumping - a so begins the cycle: death repeat! death repeat! death repeat! death repeat! death repeat! death repeat! I really wanted to like this game and I got the the final boss and guess what: death repeat! death repeat! death repeat! death repeat! No fun at all. It's totally linear as well.. This game will be a classic. Simple character design and controls but very challenging and entertaining, it will make you swear repeatedly and jump in joy after reaching your checkpoints. You will say "this is imposible" way too many times, only to through the same level really fast after you finished it once.

Really big thanks to the developer, this is my most played game in my steam library.. Graphics are pretty good, gameplay is cool. I like avrious power-ups, but... The difficulty.
The difficulty in this game is on a whole new level comparing to every other game I've played. If people think that getteing over it or trap adventure is hard, they haven't played Dispersio yet. After 6 hours of pure anger and depression I reached the final boss. Still can't beat it. It's just sick. I recommend this game, but only if you either like to hurt yourself constantly or if your nerves are of steel.

7/10. A delightful soundtrack, ludicrously low price tag and addictive and rewarding (if occasionally slightly maddening) gameplay make this an absolute steal for any fans of the more challenging end of the platforming spectrum.. Dispersio has a lot more to offer than you would probably expect from a game with such a low price. The platforming is solid and each level presents a new challenge by swapping around which ability/abilities you have access to. The difficulty is high yet fair with good checkpointing and plenty of optional collectibles. I died over 500 times during my playthrough and the checkpointing combined with instant respawns made these deaths painless. The retro graphics aren't anything special, but they work well enough and the soundtrack is fantastic.

I wish you could see the collectible completion percentage for individual levels rather than just for the game as a whole and Hard Mode isn't particularly interesting because the only difference seems to be a lack of checkpoints. Quitting the game mid-level also resets your progress through that level instead of sending you back to the most recent checkpoint, which is a bit annoying, but levels are small enough that this isn't a major issue. Ultimately, these issues are all minor ones and the game as a whole is highly enjoyable.

Dispersio took me around 2.5 hours to complete and I enjoyed just about every minute of it. If you're a fan of precision platformers like VVVVVV and Super Meat Boy, then I can't think of any game more deserving of a dollar than this one.. Good soundtrack, nice gameplay mechanics, challenging.. pretty good game. Hard as nails but not unfair so far. Good checkpoint system. Levels are somewhat long to not have checkpoint saving, but just prepare to get to the end of the level and it really is a great time. Great precision platformer, especially for the incredibly low price.

Update: Fix the last level, put a checkpoint. Having a 1hit kill boss with 6+ stages doesn't make it fun, just annoying, so I don't even care to beat it. I get that it shouldn't checkpoint for every stage, but after the half-way? That'd be a decent balance. Just tired of playing the same stages over and over.. Great game. Difficult, so don't get it if you don't like hard games. Amazing music, great art, perfect level of challenging. And to top it all off, its only $1. GET DISPERSIO
