Won't run on i7 3930K 4.5ghz GTX1080 and 32gb RAM. Tried reinstalling, renaming files, etc. Rubbish.. I love a good space flight shooter and this has been the easiest one to just sit down, play, and enjoy right from the get go. Controls are intuitive regardless of your choice of input though playing on a HOTAS setup (X52 Pro) it was especially immersive with no needed tweaks which is a relief in the VR space these days.

Looks pretty. Shoots good. Worth $20 if you're a fan of the genre or are looking for an approachable entry point with modern graphics. Can't wait to dive back in!. One of the only VR games to cause me to get nauseous. After 20-30 minutes I lost the will to keep playing and decided to request a refund. My time in the game is limited so I can't give a full review however a thumbs down indicates I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME. This isn't an indepth review just my personal recommendatoin. The little I did see in my 30 minutes of play time did not interest me at all. Combat and graphics were merely ok. Getting into a space ship, specifially in VR, should be exciting. A simple comparision would be your first minute piloting your mech in Arch Angel. I know its on rails and not a completely fair comparison but the instant you take the controls you're excited. I never felt immersed, intrigued or impressed and I feel your money might be better spent elsewhere.

For those giving me grief about the review. Motion sickness is a serious issue for some VR gamers. I however am NOT one of them. Users should be informed as they might have a sensitivity. Again I have never had another game bother me. The only game to induce the mildest of symptoms was lone echo and since I enjoyed the game I was able to battle through it and quickly adapted. While maybe I would have also adapted to End Space there was nothing compelling me to keep playing. I could have experimented with different control settings which may have alleviated my symptoms but my preference was to refund the game.. Was hoping for something along the lines of good old privateer but in VR. Instead I got a half baked arcade game. I imagine it's much better with a controller, but I will not use a controller in VR. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of VR, which is immersion.

Apart from the horrendous, jumpy as hell, control of the ship via the Vive controllers (and I've tried every possible control method, including flight by gaze/left/right joystick/thumbpad), the graphics and voice acting are passable for this price range, but the gameplay.. boy it gets repetitive quick. Go here, kill these guys, repeat. Not a lot of interactions. No different outcomes by your actions, no different paths to victory, no jumping factions or going rogue.

Only two weapons and only two upgrades per weapon. Oversimplified upgrades, combat, missions.. everything is oversimplified to a point that it looks like an indie proof of concept and not a full game. You choose the weapon upgrades from a text menu. No images of the weapons at all, let alone a proper 3D model. If you look back at your ship after upgrading weapons, it looks the same. I don't remember if they sound the same when fired but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Not a lot of attention to detail there.

I imagine it would have been much more enjoyable if the game had some kind of a true open world feeling, a sandbox element, factions, a proper NON LINEAR storyline, with side missions, proper *non-weapons related* upgrades (say, engine, shields, etc) and a true sense of open space, where you could go anywhere, dock at will with space stations and land on planets, etc etc.

I'll keep waiting for a real rogue/privateer/freelancer equivalent game and enjoy From Other Suns, which is far from perfect but much closer to home for me.. So far I am really digging this game - You have to tweak it in for the best experience though (which is ulike any other VR game).

Anyhow, I never played Elite Dangerous, which some people love and others say it's extremely boring. This game is misson-based but easy to understand and lots of action to keep you feeling like a hero.. I bought this game on sale and glad I did because in its current state its not worth any more.
The twelve missions are very easy to complete in under two and a half hours of gameplay,
It needs a difficulty selection in the options in a later update, Not to mention more missions and possibly ships to fly.
I was however very impressed on the control options for my HTC Vive and tracked controllers.
I only wish the developers of Everspace had thought of that caused me to get a refund on that game.
The graphics and sound are good quality what you would expect from an arcade wave shooter.. Just started playing it, got through tutorial and 2 missions... loving it so far! I really enjoy playing Space Pirate Trainer and dreamed about being able to jump in the ship that's right behind you - now that dream has come true! Looking forward to diving into this game further.. There is zero challenge to this game.
It does not look very good.
Play is for an hour, and never care to look at it again.
. I can't even set up the controls for this game, the menu navigation is garbage. How am I supposed to calibrate and set controls if I have to use those controls to navigate the menus? Doesn't recognize keyboard and mouse input at all, which would make it infinitely eaasier to set all these controls.

I have two joysticks, a throttle, and pedals set up, but trying to navigate the control settings is impossible because they can all navigate the menu at the same time as well as the Vive controllers. It's a mess and after way too long trying to figure it out, I'm just returning it.. It works with WMR

End Space Winter Sale - Save up to 70% off:

We have had a very exciting year in 2018 and to celebrate we are offering up to 70% off End Space across all platforms.

This year saw the release of End Space on Oculus Go, Steam, Oculus Home (Rift), Xiaomi Mi in China, and Viveport. We released one of the biggest updates to the game yet in the Collective Update[endspacevr.com] and saw the birth of two babies for our development team. It all proved to be quite a challenge for a team of two (the babies being the most challenging).

For next year we have another big update planned that is going to add more content and make End Space accessible to even more people. We are planning to ship the next update in Q1 of 2019. Stay tuned to the developer blog for more updates or come stop in the Discord[discordapp.com] channel and talk to us and let us know what you want to see in End Space.

We wish you all a Happy Holiday season and look forward to flying together next year,

Justin & Lee
Orange Bridge Studios. End Space 1.0.4 - The Collective Update Patch Notes:

We are extremely excited to release the new ‘Collective Update’ for End Space on August 2nd. End Space originally released 2.5 years ago for the Gear VR and since then we have brought it to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, and most recently Oculus Go. With every release on a new platform the last platform suffered from a lack of attention while we tried to get the next platform ready. As you may know End Space is made just by Lee and I. Since the Gear VR release I have had two babies, and Lee is still celebrating his first baby born just two weeks ago. We try to do our best but it’s not easy becoming fathers, starting a business, and working on a game across so many platforms.

Sadly that meant the PlayStation VR version hasn’t had an update since December, Rift and Vive since March. Every release also has made the game better and better but not everyone has benefited from those changes. Our PlayStation VR community has had to endure a less than perfect experience filled with bugs and crashes, while the Steam community found the game to be not challenging enough with a bug making the player invincible. This has lead to bad reviews, player frustration and stress for us because we want End Space to be great for everyone.

So starting August 2nd every platform will be updated to End Space 1.0.4 the ‘Collective Update’. We are going to do our best moving forward when releasing a patch that every platform receives the same update (unless it’s platform specific). In creating the Collective Update we have taken every piece of feedback, every review, and every fan email into consideration to craft the best update to End Space yet. We have improved the graphics, made the game more challenging, fixed crashes, bugs and pain points, and made the game a much more enjoyable experience.

We hope you enjoy playing this new update regardless of what platform you choose to experience End Space on.

Fly safe,

Justin

End Space is coming to Steam on March 29 2018! The Steam edition of End Space features HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality support through OpenVR and supports Oculus Rift via the Oculus SDK.

Steam Release. End Space 1.0.5 Beta now Live:
The newest update for End Space is now available on Steam for testing. There’s a bunch of changes and one big new feature we would like some help testing.

1.0.5 adds support for playing End Space on a monitor without a VR headset as well as supporting keyboard and mouse play. This has been the number one requested feature on Steam and a huge step into opening up End Space to a bunch of new players who love space games.

The other biggest change is support for other languages besides English. End Space has been localized for: German, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (With full voice over support). We would like to get some feedback on the translations as well.

To join the Beta, Right click on End Space in your Steam library, select Properties. Head over to the Beta tab and select the Beta branch.
