Awesome game! Great dev team! 10/10. Even in Early Access the game is very enjoyable, and I haven't had a game breaking bug show up since I picked the title up a good while back. The devs are very responsive on the forums, always a plus in an EA title. This game definitely falls into the time killer category, as I fire it up to play around a bit and find myself still playing a few hours later. The class variations (and the addition of new prestige classes) provide a good deal of replayability even before it's feature complete.. What a dissapointment.
Whoever compared this to Heroes of might and magic was dead wrong, this is not even close to the level of strategy involved in HOMM.
This game is overly simplistic, I can't see anyone over the age of 12 enjoying this.
Not a bad game to give to your kid in kindergarden to play on his ipad I guess.l. I have to say this game is really fun for what is there, Why I haven't put to much time into atm , I love it enough not to refund it! That says something! Why I haven't thrown more time into it is I enjoy this title so much I don't want to burn myself out on it, so I am going to wait a bit till the devs add and tweak more. They definitly listen to us the player base, many issues have been fixed just today and they keep on adding, it's really a great game to be had.
If you like what you see (obviously enough to read this message) then get it already , you will find it very enjoyable :). Really good game for an indie developer, nice and adjustable difficulty level from easy going to challenge for hardcore turnbased strategy gamers. I can totally recommend this game, worth every penny.. For a Management game this contains far too much combat.. I really enjoy this game. I love the management aspect and there are plenty of important decisions to make. One of my favorite things is combining the different classes to unlock prestige classes. The combat in this game will be fairly familiar to anyone who has played an RPG before and does take up more time than I would personally prefer. There are ways to skip it but they involve dice rolls and I've been punished enough that I don't use those anymore. I bought this game after going back to play Majesty and finding that it was missing a little something. While this is a very different game, it scratched that itch for me.. This game is not for me. It is very annoying as I play further into the game. Gameplay is low key and repetative. I will definitely give it up.. It's a turn-based strategy game where you run an organization of fantasy characters who take on quests. They're on a team in a league, the more jobs you do the better you do in your league (and possibly rank up to the next of I think 5 leagues). Or get demoted if you don't do enough.
There's a bunch of different classes but not much customization. The customization really only comes from multiclassing, which allows for I think 5 classes on any one character. So that kind of makes up for the lack of individual class customization. It's not quite as in-depth as I'd have preferred; I would've given up a lot of other parts of the game for more ways to customize your heroes and bigger skill trees.
The biggest problem I have with it are some of the random events, which often seem either too obvious or too random.
And the fact that certain classes and builds seem strictly better than others. Why would anyone ever not have a Witchdoctor on their team? I don't think it's subjective that the one class with a solid early game AoE heal is going to be one of the best, if not the best.
The talent choices seem obvious, there's AP reduction passives but there's also some massive buffs to active skills which are well worth paying the extra AP for. I think this should be tweaked in the future, but I think the numbers are a bit too small to make balance work without changing a lot of what's in place. 2 AP reduction is great, eventually you'd get to do skills for free. But 1 AP reduction isn't really that much.
It's also got a campy as hell sense of humor, but it's kinda cute in the way that Shakespeare used to like watching ♥♥♥♥♥♥ plays. That's not an insult btw, I really did like it in that way. There's also a managerial aspect where you trade heroes with the AI, sign new players, scout for new job opportunities, etc. I haven't delved too much into the trading because that comes later than where I got to so far. But it's pretty good so far.
