It's Thanksgiving. Bishop is going out of town with her husband. They go to the airport and wait for the plane to leave because of weather delay. They run into Tony who is waiting for his father to arrive. Bishop has a run in with a man who is rude. The guy seems familiar but she doesn't know from where. She follows him and when she sees he's armed, she pulls her gun and the man says he's an air Marshall. She still thinks something's off about him so she sends his photo to Abby and confirms he's an impostor. And McGee informs her that there's a report of a possible act of terrorism at an airport. So they wonder if that's what the guy is there for. They try to get him but they find him dead and the gun he was carrying gone.
Stormy weather keeps DiNozzo, Bishop and her husband, NSA Attorney Jake Malloy, down at D.C. airport. hey spot and confront a suspicious armed man, who identifies himself as US Air Marshal Mike Beers. ON high alert due to a terror threat, Tony duly suspects him, and indeed Tim finds the real Marshal's corpse. The hunt is on for face recognition software-identifiable impostor Norman Dopps, but who is his target?
"Grounded" sets itself apart from other NCIS episodes with a unique premise which makes this episode one of the best episodes ever. Grounded takes place at an airport, on the eve of thanksgiving, where Bishop and Jake accidentally meet up with DiNozzo. The mystery is on when the threat level is turned to critical when it appears an assassination attempt might be going down at the airport. With unusual suspects the case becomes more and more difficult and intriguing.

First of all let me just say the presentation is phenomenal. The way the facts are revealed at a steady pace and how much more and more information the team finds out is great. NCIS has excelled in this area and here it is at its best.

The intrigue is through the roof! It's really amazing up until the end where it kind of falls flat but it's there for 95% of the episode and it's the main strong point of the episode.

There's not much more to say then AMAZING suspense, phenomenal presentation, some good action and a bit of humour. As the ninth episode of season 12, this episode probably won't get much attention, but I absolutely recommend it to everyone. It's a perfect episode.

P.S. It would've been awesome to see Gibbs do a snow angel!
