Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 20's and free once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of daily life: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David spends the rest of his time in companionable silence alongside his chatterbox friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), a fellow patient whose life-long drug and alcohol addiction has done nothing to quell her boundless optimism that her luck is about to change. The pleasant numbness of David's routine is completely upended with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which David must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees may actually be real.
i went into 'legion' knowing nothing about the character or his role in the marvel universe,and now just five episodes in,I'm invested.the way the story is fractured and at times incoherent,makes it hard to follow at first,but that just makes it all the more satisfying when the pieces start falling into place.every episode is stylishly done,the camera work is on point,the transitions are effortless,even the sound is incredibly well done.if it was to be judged just purely on a technical level,it would deserve praise.noah hawley is definitely the right person for the job it seems.

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALERT*** the main character David played by dan stevens is a complicated guy,to put it lightly.at first,on the surface,it seems like he suffers from split personalities,but there's so much more to the character.he's the son of prof charles xavier,one of marvels most powerful mutants,whose mind was regarded as a weapon of mass destruction.so its no surprise that David has inherited some of his fathers traits,only,davids powers surpass his fathers and then some.he's able to alter reality and shape the very fabric of existence,as well as a multitude of other god like abilities,all spread across his multitude of personalities.each one,an unstable atom bomb ready to explode at any opportunity..its heavy stuff,but the show handles it well.there are moments of doubt (is that person real or one of his personalities etc) but the viewer never feels cheated by red herrings.the story is always moving along at a great pace,jumping from an action scene to a cerebral journey through davids fractured psyche,all the time driving the plot forward.

(i would score this gem as a 10/10 but i feel its unfair to give it a perfect rating without first having seen the whole season in its entirety,the overall story arch could dip,but if it continues delivering quality like it has so far,its a 10/10) Absolutely crap.

Couldn't make it past midway through the second episode and just deleted the whole lot.

Crazy person who isn't yet each episode is stupid, crazy and frankly idiotic.

Bounces around so much between nutso stuff and regular story you can't keep track, not that you want to, and did I say crazy, it is.

It was certainly driving me that way.

Don't waste your time with this garbage.
