Every sequence involving Frank Castle kicking ass and making heads roll is worth sitting through the run-of-the-mill crime dramatics that plague the first half of the season. Despite a tedious start, The Punisher becomes much more engaging in the second half, upping the set-pieces and exploring complex and dehumanizing themes about war and loss, backed up by a fairly strong supporting cast. Jon Bernthal is phenomenal as Frank Castle. There couldn't have been a more perfect actor to tackle this character. Gruff, ruthless, yet empathetic; a blend of traits that boldly define Bernthal's filmography. The Punisher is one of the better Netflix-Marvel series. A slew of psychological thrills and gritty action.
An OK show, thrilling, close to some Punisher's stories I've read, but full of unnecessary cliches - like villains that talks a lot until they get killed, last second life savers - lack of creativity here. Very well and carefully produced though. the story is good and nicely tied. Medium acting - very close to poor during the action scenes - of all main characters, with few exceptions (Micro is a good one). Agent Madani is stunning and the sexiest woman (one extra star to her, despite the medium acting).
