About This Game

Experience the epic journey of Nuna and Fox as they search for the source of an eternal blizzard that threatens the survival of everything they have ever known.

Never Alone is an atmospheric puzzle platformer developed in collaboration with the Iñupiat, an Alaska Native people, drawn from a traditional story that has been shared across the generations.

Guide both characters in single-player mode or play cooperatively with a friend as you trek through frozen tundra, leap across treacherous ice floes, swim through underwater caverns and face enemies both strange and familiar. (NOTE: Local co-op play requires at least one Xbox 360 or equivalent game controller).

On over 75 "Best of 2014" lists and winner of "Best Debut Game" at the 2015 BAFTA Games Awards as well as "Game of the Year" and "Most Significant Impact" at the 2015 Games for Change Awards, nearly 40 Alaska Native elders, storytellers and community members contributed to the making of the game.

You'll explore awe-inspiring environments, perform heroic deeds and meet legendary characters from Iñupiaq stories — all narrated by a master storyteller in the spoken Iñupiaq language.

• Play as both Nuna and Fox — Switch between the two companions at any time with one button press, or play side by side in local co-op mode, as you rely on the unique skills of each character to succeed in your quest. Nuna can climb ladders and ropes, move heavy obstacles, and throw her bola at targets to solve puzzles. While this game has a beautiful art and interesting videos about the culture of the native people of Alaska, I must say that the controls are terrible, specially with the keyboard and mouse combo, it gets better if you have a controller but not by much,
sorry, even if the game is beautiful visually, I can not recommend this game.. A lovely, charming and delightful game. It's true that the controls could be better but I found it a joy to play nonetheless.. Never Alone is a story-telling side-scroller that has beautiful cultural references and insights. They did a wonderful job on research and story telling pieces snipped in between scenes that made me want to play through in one sitting to fully immerse into the game.

Pros:
- Good pace
- Immersive story line
- Endless lives (needed)
- Very educational
- Fitting soundtrack
- Enjoyable graphics and design

Cons:
- Gaining the self-restraint to not chuck my keyboard because of control layout
- Flying character needs to be reworked - removed me from the very well flowing first-half of the story to more tedious movements in the second-half
- Glitchy platforms at times

If you have patience to solve the puzzles and deal with more difficult areas, then this game is worth the experience. I recommend it to those who value story telling and history interwoven with pleasing graphics and a short play-time.. 2-d Puzzle game walk-though of an Inuit legend with documentary style reward videos. Probably easier in dual player mode. Single player was challenging. Finished in 7 hours of leisurely play not including watching the reward videos. I really enjoyed it, and the artwork is amazing. There is an additional game available for it called Foxtales.
