About This Game
Queen's Quest: Tower of Darkness is an exciting adventure game inspired by one of the Grimms' Fairy Tales, taking place in a faraway realm full of magic, wonders and otherworldly creatures.The idyllic life of the royal heiress and her husband is shattered when a demonic sorcerer arrives at their palace to kidnap their newborn daughter.
Magnus, the godfather, saves our heroine with his magic, but Prince Henrik gets turned into stone, while the intruder escapes with the royal heir.
Who is the sorcerer? Why did he kidnap the child? Is there a connection between the kidnapping and Prince Henrik's not so glorious past?
Time is pressing. To save her family, our heroine will have to prove her mettle and act like a true queen. She will have to embark on a long journey through picturesque lands, solve numerous puzzles, meet many intriguing characters and discover the truth about a terrible curse that had befallen her family.
Can she break the spell cast on her husband and retrieve her daughter?

Beautiful graphics and nice story. The ending could be way better though. It was sudden and felt rather incomplete even for the first one of a series. The voice-overs could also be better. Overall I recommend it, but buy it on sale.. One bad ♥♥♥♥♥, lets just say that.. Not the best storyline for a point-and-click picture finding game. It's a bit cheesy and a few of the puzzles left me very frustrated at times. Sometimes they get to a point where you just have to be lucky. I'd look for another one if you're looking for a reasonable challenge and more engaging story.

- Cheesy and a bit 'o cringe-worthy dialogue/storyline
- A couple of ridiculous puzzles. Short review: Don't waste your money. Even if it's on sale, there are better hidden object games.
Details: There are several puzzles that are "do these things in the correct order." (Remove stones, select books, etc.) The order is random - pick on one to start; if it's correct, it stays in place, and if not, it slides back to where it started. Pick on the next... if it's correct, both stay removed; if not, both slide back into the starting position. There are no clues or logic to the correct order; it's all guesswork.
The translations for the HO scenes have problems; some objects are poorly translated into English. Also, several scenes have multiple items that could fit the description. (Nut, Bow, etc.) Since there are achievements for HO scenes with no misclicks, this is really annoying. Also, every HO scene has parts that change - e.g. a number 6 that shifts to a 9 and back again every few seconds; a rooster that turns into a hen and back again - and you're supposed to click on one of those. When it's the one you need, it's clear in your HO list; when it's not, it shows "shaded" in the list, like an item that's in a drawer. As far as I can figure, the purpose of this is to increase the chance of misclicks if you don't catch it in time.
Many of the gather-items-and-use-them steps make no sense, and some of the puzzles are frustratingly time-consuming. (At least two puzzles where you have to spin multiple wheels and align pieces that all move with each spin. After fifteen minutes of move one wheel clockwise, move another counterclockwise, move the first two steps to the right, move the center wheel back... I gave up.)
The plot, as others have mentioned, is weak. I'd expect this whole game's plot to be Part 1 of a longer game. The voice acting is laughable, and often doesn't match the transcription.
If this had been one of the first HOGs I'd played, I'd've given up on the genre entirely.. Pretty good game. Graphics are not as good as some of the HOG games but I have experienced no bugs and translates well to modern PC's and widescreen monitors. Good game to waste time with for the price.. A Queen (head of state, not Queen Consort) goes on multiple fetch quests so her loyal subjects don't have to do jack diddily squat.
From helping put out fires to shoddily repairing a whole ship AND fending off a kraken simultaneously, while also recovering the captain's lucky ♥♥♥♥ing charm that he REFUSES to go on without. If it had fallen in the ocean, I guess that'd be the end of the whole blasted dynasty.
Just get Dark Arcana: The Carnival instead.

We tried to give you a classical point and click with all the things we loved about the old-school games such as the Monkey Island series, but also do something based on the experiences that shaped us – such as the reign of communism in Poland, which affected most of us in one way or another.

It’s a classic point and click adventure, with a story that will keep you hooked, with fleshed out, relatable characters, full of humour and well-placed easter-eggs, riddles that will keep you puzzled, with a familiar interface, known from other p’n’c titles – all that without the elements that made us grit our teeth in the classics – the riddles can be solved by rational thinking (no dream logic!), some of them even have more than one ways they can be solved, it has good music – created by Peter McConnel and Arkadiusz Reikowski – and will keep you entertained for up to 10 hours!

The enormously successful composer collaborated with Arkadiusz Reikowski - best known for his work on Layers of Fear, Kholat and AM’s My Brother Rabbit - on the OST to Irony Curtain, which resulted in an larger-than-life Original Soundtrack.
