10/10 would lick captain again. Brilliant. Just the name of the game itself is almost worth a thumbs up, but it turns out to be a nice little Sierra style game. So far I have just played the free chapter. A lot of silly humour and tons of references to movies, games, and french cuisine to name a few. Most importantly it actually manages to make you feel half intelligent, like this type of games should. "Aha! I need something green and squishy. Let me try with my collection boogers in my inventory!" I really hope it continues like this in the next chapters.. Teeny adventure, teeny price, huge heart. Pros: - Fun little story which should appeal to classic adventure and trek fans - Difficulty pitched perfectly for me - Logical, well designed puzzles - Authentic and evocative EGA style art - The text parser's autocomplete is The Best Thing Cons: - I'd say it was too short but I think it's fair for the price.. Bit too easy, and playful. Would have expected more serious game, but this'll do.. Cute game in the style of Sierra's earlier adventure games, but with lucasarts' lack of permanent deaths. You're the first officer of a ship on an expedition to check the viability of a planet to become a new homeworld. The puzzles were fair and were fairly easy for this veteran adventure gamer. The game took me about 25 minutes to complete, although I still have yet to get all of the achievements like finding all of the deaths in the game, and I have yet to find the last two points in the game. The writing was good, and I enjoyed the humor. The interface, graphics and music are all fine and do the job of trying to give the sierra-style game experience. The parser is a little souped up, although that felt unnecessary to me given the short game length and ease of the game.. I never played parser games back in the day so I went in this without nostalgia goggles. Despite this, Snail Trek won me over with it's charm and how painless the parser system was. I've heard a lot of bad things about old text adventures and this game thankfully avoids them. It's short but that time is enjoyable not frustrating..
