Entrusted with the task of spotting any potential terrorists and chemical specialists who try to get a visa, Kate Abbott, the genius newly-recruited security officer at the U.S. Embassy in London, senses there's something off with the Romanian doctor, Emil Balan; however, her concerns are dismissed by her boss. But, then, after a devastating bombing attack in the heart of the city, Kate will surprisingly find herself in the spotlight and on the wrong side of the law, while at the same time, targeted by the international assassin known only as the Watchmaker. Can Kate unearth the conspiracy and make it in one piece before a new act of terrorism strikes the metropolis?
A Foreign Service Officer in London tries to prevent a terrorist attack set to hit New York City, but is forced to go on the run when she is framed for crimes she did not commit.
This is nowhere near as bad as some contributers to this site indicate.

Pearce Brosnam makes a surprisingly good bad guy and the film moves at a good pace.

Of course there are valid criticisms about the plot and particularly the way that a so called trained agent, Kate Abbott played by Milla Jovovich acts in such a foolish manner. No attempt to change her appearance even though she was aware that her picture was all over the net and TV. She was supposed to be following a protocol but clearly veered off this to do her own thing.

The ease with which she got a plane to New York during New year was just silly. Oh and she was able to park right outside St Pancras Station.

However lots of films have such silly parts but this didn't really detract from this being a very watchable thriller. This film is amazing, the high Netfix review and medium IMDb review actually cover up one of the worst written and acted movies I've ever seen.

Just as Armageddon can be used by NASA to highlight mistakes in spaceflight, this film can be used as a perfect example of gaping plot holes, baffling action sequences, illogical reasoning, super smart/dumb technology, inept pre-9/11 security in a post 9/11 world, really bad dialog and one of the most stupid scientific MacGuffins in the final act, ever.

I recommend that potential viewers of this film prepare a highlight-the-stupid-stuff game as they watch along - with food or drinks of their choice. The problem is that while it never lapses into complete cartoonishness, it never does much of anything else either, and pretty much plays like a film made for basic cable that is buoyed for a while by a couple of relatively strong central performances before eventually succumbing to terminal mediocrity in its silly final scenes.
