Run & Hide

With no escape in sight, Youngho must roam the halls of his school at night searching for a way out. During this journey he will encounter many threats hell-bent on killing him. Running is the best way to avoid danger — unfortunately, Youngho isn't much of an athlete, so he can't run forever. Find a place to hide and keep your mouth shut!

Explore

The Coma is a harsh world. This twisted reality of your high school knows no kindness. Use maps, notes, and tips from other characters to navigate your way through the world and figure out how you became trapped in such a bleak place.

Survive & Escape

Everything is out to get you. Youngho will have to avoid a persistent killer, lashing tentacles, and more to survive the school. Unfortunately, health is in short supply, and if you're not careful, you will die. The good news is that save-points provide a welcome breather from the onslaught of things trying to kill you.

Gameplay

As Youngho, you must navigate through the three connected buildings of your high school using your wits. Along the way, you will find unlockable art, notes, and easter eggs that expand on The Coma universe. Oh yeah, did we mention the relentless killer, traps, and inevitable game overs?




After spending all night studying for the last day of Sehwa High’s final exams, Youngho has an eerie dream. He arrives at school the next morning and learns someone tried to commit suicide in school the night before. Despite this, class goes on!

Youngho drifts asleep during the final to find himself trapped in the school at night. The only problem is...he’s not alone. You can run. You can hide. Can you survive while piecing together the nightmarish mystery of Sehwa High?

Relive the good times you had in high school in this fun action/adventure game.. I'm going to sue if I don't get a sequel. I love this game too much. Don't make me get my non-existent lawyers to dog pile you like a football team, game. They will. Their smiles are deceiving.... It's very scary.. Pretty good 2D horror.

It's creepy and keeps it's lore fairly simple.

I do recommend the game but definitely wait until it's on sale.

I've finished the game three times in 11 hours but the first playthrough probably took 8 hours.

I really like how when you finish the game it gives you a little hint about what you've missed.

Cons:
No auto run - my pinky really kills.

Game doesn't pause when text bubbles appear - this was how I died the very first time.

You cannot travel through doors until the screen has completely loaded or if you're moving.
This doesn't seem like a big deal but it's how I died majority of time.. It's a 1 of a kind game, 2D and horror, nothing much to say. Fun game with beautiful art. Recommended for anyone who likes a decent mystery/horror story <3 Note: Scare factor quite absent.

Story: I haven't finished it yet but so far, exploration finds notes that reveal the inner workings/thoughts of your classmates, teachers and the school itself. These aren't the main point of the horror mystery but are good enough to pad your journey as you discover more about this world.

Gameplay: It is...decent, there aren't many available actions to take as we can only run/dodge and hide from danger, the chase is very simplistic and ultimately, this repetitiveness felt like an annoying deterrent for me to discover the entire story but not too terrible because it isn't difficult at the same time. The loot/reward system felt poor because we only have 6 inventory slots for usable items and most of my "finds" end up not pickable because of this.

Horror/Gore: Not very scary, this from someone who is easily frightened. I would say that the supernatural theme, gameplay setup and atmosphere is good enough to provide an enjoyable playthrough to discover the mystery, but if you want a good scare, definitely not here.

So, why would I recommend this? While there are flaws, the combined game allows for a relaxed and therefore fun mystery exploration of a supernatural/horror theme with beautiful Korean style art that I have a soft spot for.. For a lot of people school is a source for nightmares and anxiety. That’s no exception for Youngho, a Korean freshman with failing grades. A night of cramming leads him to fall asleep during his exams but when he wakes up something is different. He has awaken in the Coma and he’s not alone. With the help of a mysterious “Ghost Vigilante,” you must guide Youngho through this shadow world and find a way out. This fast paced survival game has you running from your favorite teacher, who now is a knife wielding psychopath controlled by one of the shades. You must fix your grades and get out of this living Hell before your stalker gets you.

The Devespresso Game’s korean cult classic, The Coma, has been remastered for this new ‘recut’ version. This horror survival game is rated T for Teen due to violence and blood which means you know it’s going to be a great horror game. Like most alternate dimension, school based horror games this world is dark and freaky. The coma is not a place you want to wake up in after a nice nap. This game has you puzzling the whole time as you are trying to figure out how the characters all fit together. Why is Mrs. Song a crazy murderer in this shadow world and why is Youngho here? Is it really only because of grades? As you play you start to question the importance of school and good grades!

The 2D art style of this game is interesting and is well rendered for a game of this genre. One of my favorite little details about the game is that the save stations are the chalk boards. I really wish though that the music fit the atmosphere more. When you aren’t being chased by the stalker the music sounds almost like elevator music. I wish it was more spooky to add to the suspense of the game or even just ominous noises and no music at all. Something to just put you on edge and keep you there. I get too relaxed with the elevator tunes and almost forget there is a threat. If we were really in the game we would never feel safe with a knife wielding Ms. Song on the loose.

This is another game that I suggest using a controller for even if you are playing on PC. Quick get aways are necessary and using a controller helps with this.

Don’t forget to read your notes that you are picking up. I started to forget and it made the story line more confusing. So make sure you take the time to pick up notes and actually read them so you understand what is going on.

Another element the game adds is that you can find coins to use in the vending machines around the school. Things like water and energy drinks help keep your stamina up. You can also purchase bandages to regain HP. These things definitely come in handy when you’re being constantly chased.
