After the tragic murder of his parents, sly is put in to an orphanage, which is where he meets his life long friends and partners in crime Bently the turtle( The Brains) and Murray the hippo( The Brawn).Sly parents and ancestors before them were all expert/master theives, each one putting their knowledge, skills and techniques in a book called the The Thevius Racoonus. Carried and handed down through the ages, the book contained the cooper clans most sneakiest and complex theiving techniques. The Fiendish Five, who are also the ones responsible for the murder of Slys parents, found the book and split it into five parts, each member holding peices of the cooper clans secrets and techniques. From this point Sly is set on a path that tests his strength and abilities to see wether he can take the mantel of a master theif like his ancestors before him, and retrieve the all pages of the cooper clans secrets and techniques and claim his birth right as a Cooper.
