About This Game

EARLY ACCESS IMPORTANT NOTES

We want to clarify why this game is being released in early access instead of using crowdfunding. One reason is that it introduces players to the basic mechanics of the game early on, allowing the community share ideas for improvement while the game is still being developed. Although we are a small team, we have worked diligently on this project for almost three years and still have a long road ahead of us until we can expand our development team to speed things up. So please be patient as we continue to improve the game and add new features. We want to deliver the final project as fast as possible, but we also want to ensure it is polished and optimized. We believe feedback from early access is the best way to ensure a quality final product.

Current state

In the actual state of the game, you can freely express your dreams of building mighty castles of large scales or tiny medieval villages with a focus on realism. On the other hand, you can turn off all real physics restrictions just to unleash your fantasy.

Under construction

Currently, we are working on the village simulation mode, where you will take care of a few villagers, and together build a fief, by gathering resources, attracting wanderers to join your community, Taking cares of your dwellers, so they want to set up families. Also, we would like to make sandbox mode full of casual people doing their jobs.

Long term plans

Once simulation mode is done, then we would like to add less optimistic simulation, where bad stuff happening. You will have to even defend your fief of thief raids.

Development

While a promising theme, the controls are incredibly difficult to use. Instead of pointing-and-clicking with mouse as is common sandbox games (Sim City, etc), the controls are all keyboard-based. This makes precision building difficult and the game not worthwhile. if I could return it I would as I am very dissatisfied with the user interface. Save you money for a game that is easier to play.. Very cool game so far, and another great reminder of why I choose pc gaming. I was waiting for this game to release since a dev vid I happened upon awhile back. World of Castles has way crisp graphical details and awesome on-point physics. Its worth it to pick up and try if you like the period in history or if you just like bulding/construction and destruction :) Ive only so far built on my castle and look forward to everyhting else. Keep-up the possitive progress 'team at Hammergames' and may the happy players like me continue to be added to the fold.. This game is basically a tech demo, they should have put more time into the game before putting it for sale.. GREAT EARLY ACCESS CASTLE BUILDER; NO COMBAT YET

The game in its current state is simply a castle builder, but it is satisfying in that respect which is what makes me recommend the game rather than give it a negative review. BUYER BEWARE, however, because it is not feature complete and does not include any form of combat in its current state.

Understand what you're getting in this Early Access form of the game. If you enjoy castle building, it is a wonderful game already for that aspect. If you were expecting combat, you may want to hold off a bit until those features are in place. Know what you're getting yourself into when you purchase the game and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Developers are very driven to work with the community as well, so that is a huge plus. Bottom line, if you enjoy the Early Access process, then this is a good buy. If you don't and you just want a complete game, then give it a bit of time and make sure you at least put it on your Watch List.. this will be a great game in the future im sure of it. right now all you can do is build a catle and place men to defend it. the the building part is a bit annoying

Demo up now!:
Demo version of ΔV: Rings of Saturn is now available for everyone! You can now try ΔV first-hand to check what kind of game it is.

You can expect full space-flight mechanics and introductory story elements. The demo version does not support saves and will end once you complete your first ring dive or manage to destroy your ship.

Game is still under active development, and while I could not find any bugs on release, there sure can be some lurking in there. If you stumble upon one be sure to let me know, so I can fix it!

I will keep the demo in-sync with all the development made on the full game, so while it shows only a part of the game, you can be sure that it shows the most current version.

A few versions back I accidentally removed the time limit of the demo version of the game. Since there was no ill effect of this, I might as well make it official - there is no artificial time limit in the demo version now.

This release includes some additional fixes:

Improved performance of story elements.
Fixed line-of-sight glitches on very wide displays.
Officially removed time limit of the demo.

Changes:

Expanded HUD of the autopilot to show engagement and velocities.
Added some context-sensitive tutorial hints to the game.
Adrenaline booster key now can be assigned in the menu.
Fixed problem with settings windows closing when user clicked outside of them loosing settings.
Changed the default keymapping.
There is maximum 5 keys you can bind to an action now.
Cosmetic changes to the menus.
LIDAR display window will no longer be stretched.

This is a bugfix release. Changes:

Exhaust gas simulation is no longer affected by adrenaline boost induced bullet-time.
Fixed "exit to main menu" option on demo end screen.
Game loading now faster by 40%.
Adjusted density of the rings.
Fine-tuned the tutorial display options to be more readable.
Lights on Enceladus no-linger blind the camera for dive summary screen.
Fixes audio on boot splash.

. 0.34.2 fine-tuning hot-fix:
A quick follow up to 0.34.1, with following changes:

OMS now appears instantly after keypress.
Jury-rig menu can be fully operated with gamepad.
Fine-tuned lighting effects bit more.

This is a hotfix release that fixes crash-to-desktop caused by opening ship repair menu after selling many minerals.. 0.63.1 - Relative Ease:
This release adds new autopilot control scheme for mouse + keyboard control. You can now precisely set velocity for the autopilot with mouse and set velocity in relation to any object floating in the rings.

This new feature requires Autopilot Mk2, which is pre-installed on your default ship.. 0.33.0 - Spanish language pack:
