A warrior seeks his true origins in a seemingly prehistoric wasteland.
Yor, an extremely blond prehistoric warrior, comes to question his origins, particularly with regard to a mysterious medallion he wears. When he learns of a desert goddess who supposedly wears the same medallion, Yor decides that he must find her and learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters ape-men, dinosaurs, and a strange futuristic society.
An Italian produced sci-fi/prehistoric adventure; a strangely original blend of ideas. I like the locations (shot in Turkey I believe); you actually feel like you're in some prehistoric land. This film's got heart and soul; the actors are so sincere; they obviously thought they were doing something important. This unintentionally funny and yet boring film has scantily clad women; club wielding neanderthals, androids, laser battles; a spaceship and dinosaur/monster thingy's (not badly done considering the budget and no CGI). And Roa played by the beautiful Ayshe Gul (as mysterious as the film itself); what happened to her? The ending leaves room for a sequel! Ha ha. Did anyone seriously think there was going to be a sequel? The synthesizer music's great too, as is the theme song: Yor's world! He's the man!
With movies like this, I wonder how no one thought to stop the

thing long before shooting wraps. Movies like Yor force me to

argue for a referee who can bring a halt to shooting a troubled

movie, much in the same way a referee saves a boxer in danger.

When would the ref have brought an end to things? Reb Brown's

first appearance might have ended it, or maybe the first papier- mache dinosaur would have brought the ref's arms up. Either

way, we would have been saved from 100 minutes or so of this

drag.
