About This Game

Don’t Forget Our Esports Dream is a narrative game about the South Korean esports scene. Play as Bolt, a professional StarCraft: Brood War player at a flashpoint in his career.

The next chapter

Meet a cast of characters including fellow esports pros, international competitors, and StarCraft fans as Bolt tries to find his place within the world of esports in South Korea. Behind the backdrop of esports team houses, PC Bangs, and overseas tournaments, new interactive StarCraft sequences and Glossary/Codex features expand upon the storytelling in this installment of the esports visual novel.

Don't Forget Our Esports Dream guides players through interactive StarCraft scenes that highlight actual actions players would take when competing. The game also measures APM (actions per minute) similar to StarCraft, so players can see if they can stack up against the best. The experience scales for all skill levels, no previous experience in StarCraft required.

Expanded dialog system

Interact with the cast through the Star Sense dialog system, which allows you to present terms collected through the Codex. Presenting these terms unlocks player motivations and additional story around the world of esports.

• Star Sense dialog system - present terms about esports, strategy, and other characters through a redesigned dialog system to learn more about the world of esports.

As a visual novel on the topic of Starcraft, it is really well-written and definitely induces a nostalgia filled trip back into those forgotten times. The Starcraft mini-games were at least engaging but it could probably be improved a bit more. Of all the things in this game, the 'Star Sense' dialog system was probably one of the more annoying mechanics. Simply put, I really wished it would need less mouse clicks to go through everything. Ultimately as many have said, if you played SC2VN you'll probably like this too. Regardless, it's still a well written story though perhaps slightly lacking in detail for the side characters.. A worthy prequel to SC2VN in every way.

The thing I liked most about it was the realism with which they portrayed the xenophobia of the protagonist. It rings true for a lot of what I've heard about the mindset of serious players in Korea, and I'm glad they didn't pull those punches.

It frustrates me so much to see so many narrative-focused indie developers constantly revolving their stories around these twee hipster saints - characters without a mean-spirited or prejudiced thought in their precious little minds. People aren't like that.

I get that they're trying to be sensitive to the social and political climate - that the impact of bigotry is so close to the surface now, and so frequently - but it never comes across that way. It always reads as childish and dull, somewhere between wishful and sheltered.

This excellent game does not have that problem. Highly recommended.. More of the same as the first one with improved UI, functions and gameplay. Highly recommended if you liked that one.. Loved it! It was awesome to see the story of Jett and Bolt play out after playing through the original SC2VN. I this this a great prequel and really enjoyed all of the characters. Lots of funny moments as well, and the interactive game scenes were a cool addition! Great job!. Whereas the original SC2VN was merely just a fan-project, this prequel is a full-fledged EVN with a more complete writing and story elements. It takes a nice off-route of a classic talented underdog experience and the fact that it also focuses on the rougher side of being a pro-gamer makes it a very nice read for any interested in this hobby. Well looking, well written and without any noticeable technical shortcoming, I hereby proclaim that Don't Forget Our Esports Dream is definitely one of the better EVNs to ever come out. If you're a fan of esports, and especially if you're a fan of Startraft, this VN is a very recommened read that very well might pleasantly suprise you.
