Two alchemist brothers go on a quest for the Philosopher's Stone after an attempt to revive their dead mother goes horribly wrong.
The plot takes place at the beginning of the 20th century, in a reality where alchemy is real, extremely developed and respected. The plot features brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric who, after attempting the forbidden technique of human transmutation, suffer the consequences. Alphonse loses his entire body while Edward loses his left leg. Edward then sacrifices his right arm to save his brother's soul by attaching it to a metal suit of armor. Edward is then given mechanical prosthetics known as "automail" in place of his missing arm and leg. Upon acceptance into the State Alchemists, he is given the nickname "Fullmetal Alchemist", all while searching with Alphonse for the legendary philosopher's stone, that will repair their bodies.
Unlike the anime version, the story line is toyed with without proper ends to the original story. I like this anime very much, Both FMA and Brotherhood. The VFX and CGI are the only things i am rating this movie for. Although at some parts i felt acting was exceptionally good by the actors, however at most parts the same actors failed to deliver. I do understand that its almost undeniable, the fact that the way things can be projected in anime and in movie cannot be compared, but still at one point where the visual effect can mesmerize you and at the very other point to make Gluttony carry plastic in front of his body is not done.....overall dont waste your time watching this crap. I would rather like to say go watch the anime if you have not.
Bad CGI, terrible acting and even worst adaptation. Alphonse is the only more or less acceptable thing, the rest is dreadful, i don't get why they try to shove anime's movement/personalities in human's acting, the end result is an awkward and weird, and when you combine this with bad acting it is just disgraceful. I loved the anime, and this was an utter disappointment
Instances of alchemy abound in the narrative — walls are converted into projectiles, brick courtyards into hungry beasts — but the same magic can’t improve soap opera-like theatrics, the overuse of expositional dialogue or an eagerness to flit between action scenes.
