While exploring a planet where the civilization was destroyed, the SG-1 finds an idle android and they decide to bring her to the SGC. Sam finds a compartment with a discharged battery and she charges the battery to reactivate the android. They learn that her name is Reese and soon they find she has the capability to build replicators. Further, her immature behavior is similar to a spoiled child. The SG-1 discovers why her civilization was destroyed.
The SG-1 team visit a planet devoid of life where they find what is apparently a young woman in a state of stasis. When they return to Stargate command and examine her, they find that she is in fact a very complex machine created with nanotechnology. Known as Reese, she has no memory of what happened to the people on her planet and although a sentient being, apparently has no idea that she is anything other than human. She's somewhat leery of her new surroundings at first but Daniel befriends her and gains her trust. She makes Daniel what she calls a toy but it is in fact a highly advanced robot. Soon, the entire base is at risk and the innocent Reese finally admits to what happened on her home world.

"Menace" is a great episode of "Stargate SG-1". The idea of an immature and powerful artificial intelligence is absolutely original. Daniel's attitude is silly and absurd considering the self-destruction status of the entire base and the danger of the android. My vote is eight.
