About This Game

Rakuen is an adventure game about a little Boy who lives in the hospital. One day, the Boy asks his Mom to escort him to the fantasy world from his favorite storybook, so that he can ask the Guardian of the Forest to grant him one wish. In order to receive his wish, the Boy must complete a set of challenges that revolve around helping his neighbors in the hospital by interacting with their alter-egos in the fantasy world...

...A cranky old man who guards a broken music box with his life while complaining that he never gets any visitors; a young woman in a coma whose husband hasn’t left her side in months; a little girl who laments over a friend she was never able to say goodbye to after growing ill… The Boy slowly begins to realize that his neighbors are plagued by secrets and struggles that are mysteriously tied to the strange hospital.

This game... man this game is amazing. I will never forget the story I experienced and will more than likely play it over and over and over. Thank you for such an amazing journey.. Prepare to weep\u2026

Get it on sale because gameplay-wise it is not worth much. Pro: The soundtrack is very good and the art is cute!. I'll drop my first evaluation here now that I see the game's on sale : Rakuen is an awesome story based indie game. A must have, magnificent work by Laura Shigiahara. If you're the least bit curious, do not hesitate, you won't regret the experience.. Rakuen is a wonderful experience. Great story, lovable characters and an amazing soundtrack on top of it.

Be warned though, this game is very sad and even tragic at times.. I just finished playing, and wow... It's a very charming game with a creative story and an amazing soundtrack! I definitely recommend this.

. Like 'To The Moon' and 'Finding Paradise', Rakuen manages to hit high-notes on all aspects of the game it's trying to be. The gameplay isn't riveting, but the heart-felt story, music, and atmosphere as a medium to talk about and tackle problems that, a friend, relative, or even ourselves, have experienced. It is deeply humanizing and reminds me of my own mortality and the importance of those around me. Thank you for making this game.

Hi everyone~! Recently I was introduced to a wonderful charity that works to improve the lives of children in hospitals all around the world. They're called GameChanger[gamechangercharity.org], and throughout the month of August, they're trying to raise $75,000 for children's hospitals.

This event will culminate on August 29th, where friends of GameChanger (people like CaptainSparklez, Strawburry17, JeromeASF, and many more) will be streaming games that empower and bring hope to people battling illnesses (or those fighting along their side). I'm really excited to share that they'll be playing both I,Hope as well as our very own Rakuen! I'll also be joining the stream at some point, so I hope to see you there!
