Entrusted with the task of spotting any potential terrorists and chemical specialists who try to get a visa, Kate Abbott, the genius newly-recruited security officer at the U.S. Embassy in London, senses there's something off with the Romanian doctor, Emil Balan; however, her concerns are dismissed by her boss. But, then, after a devastating bombing attack in the heart of the city, Kate will surprisingly find herself in the spotlight and on the wrong side of the law, while at the same time, targeted by the international assassin known only as the Watchmaker. Can Kate unearth the conspiracy and make it in one piece before a new act of terrorism strikes the metropolis?
A Foreign Service Officer in London tries to prevent a terrorist attack set to hit New York City, but is forced to go on the run when she is framed for crimes she did not commit.
Not worth watching at all.

A stereotypical bad action film, "Survivor" is roughly (I'm probably not a good source, I think I fazed out at some point) about some American embassy workers in London, with some explosions etc. And guess what all the British are bad - I know a British accent seems to do strange things to film-makers' brains, but really, isn't that overdone now? Okay, mostly suppressed rant aside, there was really nothing substantial or even particularly good about this movie. The plot goes exactly where you think it's going to go and all the stuff you think happens, does happen. It's predictable and pretty much the same as most of the other "action" movies out there. Also, what's with the name: there is no one in the movie that can really be classed as a "survivor" - except, perhaps, those who, like myself, for some obscure reason actually finished watching the film.

And to everyone involved in making this film: you have Milla Jovovich, an absolutely awesome actress, especially for actions films (not to mention the fact you also have an actual James Bond), yet you just have her running around looking confused for basically the whole movie - seriously? You can do better. A Foreign Service agent by the name of "Kate Abbott" (Mila Jovovich) is sent from the U.S. to the American embassy in London to help ferret out terrorists attempting to gain entry into the United States. Unfortunately, she immediately encounters fierce political criticism when her suspicions fall upon a prominent physician named "Emil Balan" (Roger Rees) who has links to the British government. Yet in spite of it all she manages to maintain the trust of her superior, "Sam Parker" (Dylan McDermott) and as a result she continues with her investigation. For this she becomes the target of one of the most lethal assassins in Europe known on as "the Watchmaker" (Pierce Brosnan) due primarily for his penchant for using time bombs to take out his intended victims. Now rather than reveal any more of this film and risk spoiling it for those who haven't seen it let me just say that, although it started out great, like so many movies of this type it rapidly devolved into a mindless action film with little semblance to reality. Only in Hollywood. That said, despite the fine performances of all of the aforementioned actors, I have to downgrade what could have been an excellent film to one that is no more than average.
The overarching sense is of a thriller awkwardly stitched together in the editing room, and still failing to fix its many flaws.
